FAQ
In-Home Personal Training

What can I expect at the first session?
Your initial visit runs longer than a normal session.  Medical history will be evaluated and a movement assessment will also be done.  From here, a series of simple exercises will be performed allowing the trainer to gain a better grasp of your strengths and weaknesses.  Based on the results of these tests, an individualized workout program is written to help you achieve health and wellness. The first week of the process allows the trainer to get to know your body and level of fitness.  As fitness improvements are achieved, steady progressions can be expected.

Can I buy individual sessions?
Yes you can - however you will save money per-session with our package deals.  Clients also find it tedious to continually pay after each session.  Packages are available in as small as 10 sessions.

What if I don't have any equipment at my house?
No problem!  That's one of the advantages of hiring Luke's Fitness Factory.  We have plenty of equipment to ensure you get a tremendous workout and we bring it to you.  All you need is an open area (living room or family room) in which to do the exercises.  In good weather, we can move the work out to a patio or backyard if desired.

Why is the price higher for in-home training?
We have to take into account the cost of gas and travel time both to and from your residence.  This is why a nominal charge is applied to all in home training sessions.

What can I expect at the first session?

Why do I have to pay membership fees?
Membership fees are included for several reasons, primarily to help in the costs of maintaing the equipment and overall condition of the studio.  With your membership, you will also receive a key, allowing you access to the studio at any time day or night.  It is an ideal place for people who do not like the overwhelm of larger gyms.

My muscles are sore.  What should I do?
Initial muscle soreness may occur.  Clients need to convey to their trainer any soreness or discomfort that they might be feeling.  The trainer can then assess whether the soreness is an injury or the by-product of muscle fatigue.  If discomfort continues, you can put ice or a cold compress on the sore area for about 20 minutes to decrease any swelling.

Boot Camps: (Currently not available. Coming Soon!!)
What is the sign-up process?
Go to the Bootcamp page,
fill out the online rgistration and pay via Pay Pal.  Or download the form, fill it out, attach a check and send it in.  Email Luke if you have any questions regarding the camps and once we have received your registration information, we will contact you to schedule your pre-camp evaluation. Be sure to contact Luke prior to the start of your first class.  Please do not just show up since necessary paper work needs to be filled out and other campers will be kept waiting.  Thanks!

The Pre-Camp Evaluation includes the following:
1. An introduction to Boot Camp, answering any questions you may have,
2. A review of your medical history,
3. Taking a few simple measurements to see where you are prior to beginning camp (we don't assess what the measurements show, this is strictly for a post-camp comparison). These numbers and all other information are held in the strictest confidence. This is optional and if you do not feel comfortable doing this it can be skipped.
4. Recording your weight and measure your body fat percentage (again, for the purpose of measuring your improvement at the end of the camp). Don't be surprised if you see a 2-8% reduction in your body fat over the six weeks!
5. Getting ready to have fun!

What do I need to bring to camp?
You will need to bring one set of 3 to 8 lb. hand weights and any type of exercise mat. You will also want to bring water to keep yourself hydrated during camp. You may want to bring a towel to dry off with and gloves if it is chilly.  Try to dress in layers since your going to heat up quickly!   Make sure you have a good pair of running shoes or cross trainers as well.

Will I be sore sometimes?
Most people feel some soreness for the first 2 to 3 days. After that point, it is slight to moderate. Don't be afraid if you do feel sore - it is one way that your body lets you know you are working hard and achieving your goals.

What kinds of people go to camp?
They are people just like you. Exercises can be tailor made to specific peoples fitness levels.  Whether you're a fitness junky or just trying to get moving, we've got the program for you.

Is there a refund policy?
If you are unable to attend camp due to circumstances out of your control, we can offer you a credit towards another boot camp. This credit is nontransferable. There is no cash refund. This is not negotiable.

What is a typical day like at camp?
Each day will vary.  It is important to develop some type of a fitness base before trying more difficult movements to avoid injuries.   You can expect light running, weight training, obstacle courses, core training and stretching and more each week. It's always an adventure, and you'll always have fun!

How soon will I see results?
Performance improvement can take place in as little as three days. Visual improvement - seeing results when you look in the mirror or put on clothes - can take anywhere from two to four weeks depending on your effort level. It is common to see campers drop 1 to 2 dresses sizes within the first camp. Remember, everyone is different!  Keep in mind that your food intake - and food choices - also impact how quickly you achieve results.

What will I do after camp is over?
When camp ends, you can get re-measured and assessed to document your success!  Then sign up again and continue to improve!
